What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is a therapeutic modality centered around the yogic view of what it is to be in human experience. It sees this experience through a 5 layered lens of consciousness(es) known as the Pancha Maya (5 Sheaths). We may address only the physical layer in a session or we may address other layers within the system in order to bring the underlying issue into a resonance of healing. In this way, we may look at stress and stress reduction techniques (pranamaya), lifestyle and self-care practices (manomaya); and/or spiritual connection and what may be useful or supportive meditation methodologies (vijnanomaya). In Yoga Therapy, we seek to balance all 5 Layers, in this way, bringing the Whole system back to health and harmony.
